Ixtapa’s Bike Path, Tourist Environmental Certificate 2020.

Profepa (Federal Institution to protect the environment) has granted Ixtapa's Bike Path a certificate for Tourist  Environmental Quality until 2020.

According to information from the National Fund for Tourism Promotion (Fonatur), the stretch with certification covers four kilometers, this area has a vast quantity of flora and fauna, the main characteristic of the Ixtapa circuit.

The first time that Profepa granted Ixtapa’s Bike Path the tourist environmental certificate was in 2016, also for a period of two years; Now, in 2018, the distinction extends for the same period of time.

For many years thousands of tourists ride the beautiful Ixtapa Bike Path, specifically the Ixtapa circuit, not only to exercise in an open space, but because they're seeking for the multicolored birds, crocodiles, deer, turtles and other wildlife.

It should be noted that Fonatur within its promotion strategies, is working to consolidate Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo as an urban-tourist destination, without losing the essence of Ixtapa’s direct contact with nature.
